The Sherborne Market believes that supporting our local community is essential. Our community supports us and so it's great to give back where we can. Here are some of the local projects we are involved with.
The Sherborne Food Bank
We are proud to support The Sherborne Food Bank as our charity partner for 2024. Each month the Food Bank and their fabulous volunteers will be at the top of Cheap Street outside the entrance to Waitrose collecting food donations, cash donations and giving out information about their services. https://www.sherbornefoodbank.org/
The Gryphon School Lego Club
The Gryphon School Lego Club have a fabulous project for 2023. After building Sherborne Abbey from Lego they are now building a copy of Sherborne Castle. We were very happy to kick start their fundraising drive with a £500 grant for this years project. Love the Lego Abbey? It's on display at Sherborne Abbey pop in and see it next time you're in town
The Sherborne Orienteering Project
We are pleased to have donated £800 to the new Sherborne Orienteering Project. Pick up your map from the Library in Sherborne and follow the routes around town. Guaranteed to take you to parts of Sherborne that you have not explored before. Access for all abilities.
Gryphon School Duke of Edinburgh Scheme
A project close to our heart, not only do we help fund our local D of E scheme, we also have a number of teenagers volunteering with us on market days, helping with set up and directions for the volunteering section of their D of E requirements.
