The Sherborne Market believes that supporting our local community is essential. Our community supports us and so it's great to give back where we can. With over £7000 donated this year here are some of the projects we have been involved with in 2022
We were proud to be able to donate £150 to sponsor Rachel Goodfellow's final weekend of 46 marathons in 46 days. Rachel will be finishing her final run in Pageant Gardens at 1p.m on Sunday 21st May whilst the market is in full swing. Rachel starts her quest on 6th April and will run a marathon a day for 46 days finishing on 21st May. Rachel is raising funds for families with additional needs, young people and The Rotarians Charity Foundation. For more details see hiddenneedstrust.org
The Gryphon School Lego Club have a fabulous project for 2023. After building Sherborne Abbey from Lego they are now building a copy of Sherborne Castle. We were very happy to kick start their fundraising drive with a £500 grant for this years project. Love the Lego Abbey? It's on display at Sherborne Abbey pop in and see it next time you're in town
We are pleased to have donated £800 to the new Sherborne Orienteering Project. Pick up your map from the Library in Sherborne and follow the routes around town. Guaranteed to take you to parts of Sherborne that you have not explored before. Access for all abilities.
A project close to our heart, not only do we help fund our local D of E scheme, we also have a number of teenagers volunteering with us on market days, helping with set up and directions for the volunteering section of their D of E requirements.
